Been heavily contemplating taking on my new project as a race car instead of dd. I have an infiniti m30 w/ rb20 swap about done and got a deal from a buddy for a 240 w/ rb25 for cheap. My original plan was to finish the m30, sell it, and build my new 240 project to be a solid, fast track-able dd. I just got my 35r turbo kit it and realized I had ordered it prematurely. I did not take into consideration the amount of fuel needed to power this turbo at a good operating psi. So I have toyed with the thought of actually keeping my m30 for a neat dd, and tracking this 240 and getting sponsorship to assist with the build. Has anybody hear of or had success with these types of situations or am I heading toward a huge financial crisis?

build your car, show up at a bunch of events and show them what you got, than maybe if you're lucky someone might sponsor you

How old are you? do you have any previous racing exp? If you are any older than 18 and your just getting into this...good luck, just like any other sport there are a hundred other people that are in front of you. younger kids on the circuit with lots of track time. Same thing happened to me, I started about 3yrs to late so it just turned into a hobby. Not to discourage you, you MAY find some dealers or local company but don't expect some one to build your car for you.

just wondering, nothing really serious. @ charat, everyone starts somewhere dont be such a flame. And I know how to apply for sponsorships thats not what Im trying to figure out here. Ive had friends get good sponsorships with nothing more than theyre concepts and approach to a racing build. But like I said, not seriously contemplating, just wondering about others success. And the location I am at, I would be the only 500+ HP with this set up so I would imagine it could catch some attentions. And yes, there is a large import scene here and very active communities.

@ Drakelee, im 24 with limited experience (precision coarse, fun on freeway, etc.). I have good ties to local shops and parts suppliers. I also have plenty of people willing to help me improve and hone my skills. Looking at this more as a passion than anything else. Im not expecting anyone to build my car, Ill do all the work. Heres some of my new pics of what im talking about.

I just picked this up a couple weeks ago for cheap, trying to figure out what Im going to build it for.
