240 problem

I have a 92 240sx (ka24de) sometimes it will hit the rev limiter a 5k. sometimes it will die and then i start it again and it will sound like it is camming then die. it has a shortram intake and a muffler. anyone know what might cause any of this?

As far as your problem goes, it could be any number of things. It sounds to me like your car is hesitating at 5k and not actually hitting the rev limiter.

How many miles are on the car? Have you looked at the cat recently? It could be clogged or the exhaust somehow obstructed. When was the last time it got a complete tuneup? Have you checked the ignition system? What about the condition of your o2 sensor?
