hey,

i wrote earlier about how my auto transmission quit on me, i looked into getting my current auto rebuilt, and then looked into turning it into a manual. turns out it isnt too much more expensive to change it, so thats what i plan on doing now.

i am wondering if i can use parts from earlier 240s? i have a 1995, i know the dohc engine was used in years earlier than this, so does this mean that i can use the transmission and drive shaft and other parts from these years? i am guessing it is going to be a little hard to find a standing 95+ 240 to strip for parts, so it would make it easier if i can use these parts from the earlier years.

and since i plan on spending like 2000 plus the price of a clutch (maybe 450 for a good one) i am probably no longer going to get the SR swap done...o well, most likely n/a, or maybe turbo ka if i can afford it =)

there is no S15 240SX. : )

And yes the S15 Silvia transmission bolts up to any Silvia or 180SX SR20.

That is correct, you'll want the driveshaft and rear differential unit. : )

You must get a driveshaft from a 95' - 03/97 S14. They changed after 03/97' anyone know what the difference is??

I got all my parts out of an 89' and everything but the driveshaft fits. The driveshaft as a whole is about 2in short and the center support bearing is about 6in too far forward.:rolleyes

I have a transmission, crossmember, and shifter for sale cheap if you want em' [email protected]

Its because of ABS if I remember correctly, a non-abs unit should still work, but I may be confused. : )
