Well, went out to start my car last night about 7 p.m. on my way to pick up my girlfriend. As soon as it started, I hear a loud knocking noise and very very loud rocker arm tick. I shut the car down, called the g/f and told her I wouldn't be able to make it tonight. I called the shop that put in my new engine and they said they will look at it monday. The new engine is under a 2 year warranty so I know it will be repaierd under warranty. It just makes me mad it's down again!

I don't remeber the company the engine was from, but I can look on the block and tell you if your interested. I remember being told I just don't recall the name.

follow my motto: If you break it, go buy a BMW. hahahag/l on the fix hope it wont cost too much, ehh just drop an SR in it.haha just read about warranty.

could be the piston that hit the valves, not sure though.

could be a dumb question, but did you check the oil?

yeah that's the first thing I did after hearing the noise. It was full and I use Mobil 1 5w-30.

did it read full right after it ran? maybe a bad oil pump?

it could be a bad oil pump. How much is that to replace?

not too much but likly the damage may already be done,, if the shop says it fine just fix oil pump id recomend getting outside info/opinion

well the shop where the initial work was done is where it'll be taken back too. They have the say what is replaced and what isn't.

check with a lawyer or somthing, be cause of those reason they may be responible to fix anything caused by the pump and they could fix the pump and say its ok then soon as or when ever the warr. is up clunk dead again,, just check it out man, could have more than one prob

I know there is moer damage to the motor already. It's knocking pretty badly. It'll be fixed under warranty, I'm not worried. I'm just tired of having to wait all the time.
