alright...i was hell bent on saving a million dollars and buying a skyline and getting it shipped into the US..but i found out that it was a pain in the neck...i was still planning on doing it but i was discouraged with this info...my friend told me that it was easy to take the skyline TT engine (RB26DETT??) and put it in the 240sx...he said it would be the same as the skyline but like 700lbs lighter...is this info correct..and if it is...how hard would it be to do so

The TT is a problem it would not be AWD and it isn't hard. See new SCC for a better idea

You can always couple the RB26DETT transmission to an RB25DET bell housing... Just a thought.

Sure, if you consider $4115 and $315 shipping a sh*tload for a front clip, front end conversion and spare parts...

The front end conversion alone had me sold

Less than 5 thou seems cheap to me, considering that I originally considered the SR20DET at 3500 for a block with no ECU and a front end for $1000. (All before shipping.)

Sr20det at $3500 for a block with no ecu??? Where'd you get your price at? You can easily find front clips for $2-4500 depending if you want the s13/s14/s15 clip. You're looking in the wrong places I bet.

some people... yes it is easy. Just as easy as the SR Swap. Unstable Hybrids makes all the junk to make it a bolt in Plug 'n' Play thing. And the reason you cant use the TT is because of the TT not because of the transmission. It won't clear the steering column. Go with the 25

Also FYI this should be in the RB area

Quote »scc did an article on this?[/quote]No but McKinney's 240 with a RB25 is in it this month(damn nice might I add). I just was referring to the RB series swap in general when I said that about the SCC frenzy. I think they're doing an install guide in next month's issue for the RB25.

if my penny pinching SR swap is costin my over 5 grand installing myself and RB swap should be at least 2x expensive with install. People should stop lying to themselfs "i can get this done for $2000! i read it somewhere!"

You're paying over $5000 for an SR swap? If so I sincerely feel sorry for you. An RB clip is about the same price (Where I fond mine Toy Shop Auo )

Try looking at phase2motortrend.com, cartunemotors.com, heavythrottle.com, and unstable-hybrids.com

there is really no difference between the RB swap and the SR swap unless you get the mounts. All the stuff you need can be had for 1,800 from unstable. + 4000 for the RB25 Clip. that is 800 dollars more than you spent. By the way I have also spent about 5000 bucks on my swap but i have all kinds of stuff. I hope you didn't spend that mutch on just the SR Swap

so you could do a stock RB25 swap for similar money and be much faster...

::edit:: Sorry the install kit is only 1,400 bucks... -200 if you get the clip from them
