If the noise is coming from the back right, then it could be one of the following:- worn CV joint- worn brake pads

Here is what I have tried so far, but it has not fixed it......... so if anyone else has a better idea please help.I have replaced....shockstie rod endsrotorsbrake padsend linkssway arm bushingstorsion arm bushingssome of these were replaced due to the clunking, some where jus done cause they needed it, but none of it has stopped the noise.

Oh come on Gentlemen~~~~~!!

It is the SUBFRAME bushings~

Go on Ebay and Type UP: 240sx (subframe collars or subframe bushings)

These bushings hold up your Rear END and after time, these PolyUrethyane inserts wear out.

You can easily replace them for about $40-100 (if you get generic, or COOL KAZAMA!) With these NEW Aluminum "Bushings" or "Collars" You simplY Unbolt the 4 bolts that hold up the rear Subrame and side these "Bushings" in.

You can get OEM polyurethyane that will give you a soft ride, or like most people get "aluminum" or SOLID "bushings"

It takes about 30 minutes to do, put your car on jack stands, Put a JACK under the Rear Differential, SLowly losen the 4 bolts that hold the SUBFRAME (SUBFRAME = THAT ENTIRE ASSEMBLY OR "CAGE" IN WHICH HOLDS UP THE DIFFERNTIAL, THE WHEEL KNUCKLES, THE AXLES, ETC.)

The entire "subframe" will drop, you support it with the car JACK, SLIDE the top collars in, then put the lower collars in, tighten the bolts and you're done.

I have a quick question then, can the subframe bushings be the cause of car jerking when I am driving? I had a post earlier this month about it, and I did what was on the post, and it seemed like it fixed it, but then it came back. I know I did not test long enough before I replied and said it was fixed. But Usally it does it when I am driving running at about 2500 rpms. But it has done it at a higher rpm. I hate to change the subject, but I was just wondering if this problem could be related to my problem.

That clunking must be a very common problem amoung 240's. Because my dads does it, my buddy does it and mine just started doing it. The exact problem you are describing.

Ill try putting in new subframe bushings this weekend. Its strange that the noise sounds like it is comming from the passenger side front, but as duce240sx says its the subframe bushing.

I dont see why the noise would be comming from there if it is the subframe but oh well. I have recently replaced all the front bushing with es poly bushing and ill try the rear and see if that helps.

I still get clunks time to time with the kazamas, also had the Dupree's.

I have RUCAs, coilovers, sways...any of those could make noises at the right angles/bumps.

I know on a hard corner that has a dip in it my whiteline bar taps the underbody in the rear.

You know what GUYS,

I was testing my brakes out today, and I stopped SUPER hard, and I heard it!!

I think it is the subrame. Or the differential~It is only when I stop really Hard that I hear it.But I think my bushings are still good. My car is CHERRY, MINT, I bought it from a MILF. Orignial owner~

I am not going to do the BUshings yet, until the noise becomes annyonying~

It is common, just think about this, you are going Really fast, and you suddenly stop, all that MOMENTUM drives you forward, and your parts do the same, moves forward. So it's nothing serious~

Yes it is...

Because your parts should be moving forward in sequence with the car...as one, with no slop or play. If there are clunks then something isnt secured properly for generating maximum performance.

My car clunks every time the suspension geometry changes, such as starting or stopping suddenly, or even just letting off the gas at high speeds. Pretty sure it's the subframe.
