240 block the same as frontier block

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

whats up yall my frontier has a ka 24de was wondering if it has the same block as the 240s cause my crank bearing went out on me and need to fix asap. what would be the best solution to this and cheaspest fastest way. thanks yall!

No, they're not the same. The front timing chain cover is different, the oil pan is different, it's rear sump I think as well. All 240 engines are Japanese, and the Frontier engines were made in Mexico. On a side note, they make dry sump pans for the Frontier variants.

wow, quite interesting! Dry sump u say ? what other info do you have on this? i like the sound of drysump 240, i wonder if it's allowed in gt3 class scca cars?

I wouldn't know, you'll have to refer to the rule book. As far as the dry sump, all the info I have on it is that ARE makes a pan for it haha. Sadly it's cast. I do know that it's only for the Mexican blocks though. Like I said, I'm pretty sure the only differences are the front/valve cover, and the location of the oil pick up. Which in the case of dry sump wouldn't matter.
