240 acting up badly

I was just looking for some help with my 89 240 coupe could you guys help me out I have no idea what to do about the first and need some advice on the others. 1. I changed this little valve(which the service manual calls the pulsed secondary air injection solenoid valve) because my mechanic said it might be bad due to the fact that when I disconnect it, the check engine light turns on but the car runs great and when I reconnect it the check engine light turns off but the car runs like crap it feels like its going to stall when I accelerate, and the engine runs really rough when I'm driving at a constant speed.

2. My air conditioning will only work up to the third speed setting after that it turns off and no more cold air comes out

3. And last but not least I recently swapped my cluster to analog after my HUD went out completely but the speed is still weird the needle will occasionally drop to zero and when it does work it is from my estimate 10 MPH faster(did the same thing with the HUD)

number 3 just sounds like your speed sensor on your transmission..happens to lots of 240's : /

not a clue whats wrong, but dude, wtf is with the mini-monster truck there?

thats really random...+2 on the speed sensor mine craped out too did the same thing....

well I'm already working on getting a new speed sensor but I still have no idea why that little valve does that, but I was looking over my engine today and noticed that there is a huge rip in the flexible part of the intake near the throttle body maybe that is what is causing the rough engine condition. and to make things worse I hit a dip earlier today going around thirty or at least I think (speedo wasnt working at the time) it was thirty and now my exhaust sounds terrible I think I craked the cat or something cause that I where the sound is coming from.

wrap the intake piece in ductape untill you can get a replacement. my friends sohc was running like ****, and i told him 30 times fix the intake leak and 2 open vac sources and itll idle like a dream. and guess what? i was right.

you know i had a feeling that the leak would be the major problem but i think i'll use some two ton epoxy and some scrap plastic to seal it up instead ductape isnt that fashionable

wow where the hell did that monster truck come from i swear i put a picture of a valve it must have been a mix up in the imageshack thing oh well
