Any of you tire gurus know if this tire will work with a 16x7 rim? I'm looking at Falken Ziex ZE-512's in this size.

Also, anyone have any experience with the Falken brand?

The 512's are a good tire for the money. They tend to run round, are easy to balance(no excessive weight needed, if mounted on good wheels), and road noise isn't as bad as some.

The 235, with the 55 sidewall, can be mounted onto the 7" wide rim. It might not be the optimal fitment as recommended by Falken, but my reference is at the shop...

Bridgestone has excellent online size charts, which can be used, to some degree, to answer basic fitment questions.http://www.bridgestonetire.com...tid=6For your size, they allow a range of 6.5-8.5" and 7.5" would be optimal.

All the customer reviews I've read about them seem to be good with a few exceptions. I wanted to go with a tire a little wider which is why I'm looking at this size. It's the same diameter as the 215/60/16 OEM tire. The car had new tires when I bought it a year & a half ago. Funny thing though, and I'm just realizing this now that I need tires. The tires on the car are 215/55/16's almost an inch (0.9) less in diameter than OEM. The speedo always seemed to be off & I suspect this is why.

Check out AZHitman's profile, and some of his posts about his tires. He's got Falkens in a 255 if i remember, but i don't recall the wheel width he uses. He's posted extensive info about his setup. A search in either this section or the Infinit General section should give you his posts to read.

Good stuff. I've always like Falkens, as they really are a good deal for the dollar. Customers are quite happy with them. They seem to wear decent, ride good, and have very few manufacture defects. It's a rare thing to have to replace a Falken tire under warranty for defect.

They also have the proper load capacity for the Q... so I'd say you're all out of excuses! :) Go get 'em and tell us what you think!

I thought AZHitman used the 255 but I wasn't sure of the wheel width. I imagine they would be 7" also. Mine are the touring wheel. I was pretty much done with the excuses when I started this thread. The load capacity was one of the deciding factors as Q45tech constantly reminds us of the importance of load capacity. Just wanted to check the fitment with the rim width. I can get them locally at NTB for $88.99/tire. $539.03 including tires, mounting & balancing, & four wheel alignment. Will post opinions after a few thousand miles.

eQlipse- did u ever get these tires? I'm thinking about these (they just got a top rating in the latest consumer reports). If so, how'd ya like em? Did your ride quality get noticibly worse w/ the increased width? (KNOW handling got better!). Wish Tirerack carried....

Mine are 255/50ZR16's on a 16x7 rim. Looks good, handles even better.

BTW, my favorite on-ramp (40mph speed limit) I'm now up to around 88mph - I push it a little harder every night.

When I hit the guardrail, that'll be when I know how fast I can safely go... :D

Doug,

I've had them on the car about 3 weeks. As Greg said, they do look nice. Handling is a lot better. Better response. As far as ride quality, it didn't get worse. It may have been the condition of what I had on the car but the ride quality appears to be better.
