Hey,

I have a 1993 240sx that I want to setup for a ka24det. Unfortunately my engine has 230k on it. Yeah 230k!! It was running strong well passed 200K, but it feels like its gasping for power every know and than over the past few months. Anyway, I want to turbocharge the engine rather than spend thousands on a SR engine that I have no idea what its been through. Would I be able to run low boost until I rebuild the engine? I was thinking of running 550cc injectors, z32 MAF and a JWT ECU to have the car setup for higher boost down the road after an engine rebuild. If you dont think its safe to run low boost, do you know anywhere that sells a rebuild kit? I'm considering forged pistons and rods when I rebuild the engine to provide additional reliability.

Go a full rebuild or do a SR swap... yea I know but the engine has alot of miles and a turbo kit will run you anyhow around 2K to 3K

Get an Enthalpy tune. Z32 mafs, 555cc injectors. Get your turbo kit right the first time. Also matters because of your ecu tune. Run 7lb wastegate, until you get another Ka that is rebuilt. When you get your tune tell him 8.8 or 9.1 CP ratio for pistons on whichever your rebuild will be with.

rebuilt ka motors dont run for that much, they usaully run for $1000 or less. That's an option id look into. or like it was said before on top just rebuild it urself or get an SR they're good motors but i think they're over rated..

If I were you, I'd do the following steps, respectively:

1. Obtain used KA24DE engine with roughly 100k miles for around $300 USD (very common price)2. Obtain turbo kit and tuning solution3. Swap engines, boost the lower mileage engine and keep the high mileage as an emergency alternative, in the event of catastrophic failure.

Might wanna throw in a good clutch while you're swapping engines. Stock DOHC will make 300whp just fine.
