ok i picked up a 95 240sx all bone stock.. i ordered some rota grid wheels 17x9+25 4x114.3. sent the money and then got a call saying none in stock but i could get the + 12 offset in the same size wheel so i said ok np. now i have looked at many set ups on here im trying to decide which tire.the car is an automatic and im not really planning anything much more than wheels and tires.

my question is ,, im thinking of 225/50-17 or 235/45-17 non staggered i want to rotate them. i looked for a pic of 225 on a 9 inch wheel but cant seem to find a pic so i can see if its a big stretch. 9 inches is 228.6mm so i dont think it would be to bad.

also does anyone have any knowledge of any fender work that might have to be done. i saw the red one on here in the tire fitment thread he has the same spec wheels with 235-245 stagger with a roll on the rear,, says front is stock. so might 235 on all 4 corners require no fender work with a 17x9 +12 wheel..

thanks,, jr.

Half an inch is enuff to throw off your speedometer, decrease you fuel mileage and generally look ugly as hell with that tall side wall.

Next time, use these:

i used this one ... http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

according to it i'll be 1 mph faster with the 45 series tires. if i plug in the correct tire size that came stock on the car. the tires on it now are not stock they are 185/65-15 the correct size is 205/55-16. if i would have gotten the 40 series it would have been 1 mph slower.
as for as appearance, i looked at the red 240 i referred to earlier in the first post .. the wheels on it are all the same spec. with 235/45s on the front.
i went ahead and made the order after i saw 20 views but no response . had to do something.

thanks for the help. i hope its looks ok.

Since your S14 is a 4 lug, I assumed you'd be basing your fitment around the base model's stock setup, which is 15x6+40mm with 205/60/R15. Your setup will work fine, but I'm curious about if base S14's are geared differently than SE S14's. If so, expect some smal descrepancies. Aside from that, an 40 profile just looks better on a 17, IMO.

you probably right. i'll live with it for now and keep it in mind for next time. i just went with the specs i found online.. the info on the car for the tire and wheel size is missing. i read your postings alot and as always you been very helpful. i'll check the speedo when i get things mounted. and then we all will know. looks like in that case should be about 1.6 mph faster on the 205/60-15 specs.

Yeah, I think you'll be fine. I just generally prefer 18's on S14's. But if you're gonna do 17x9's on there, I prefer 40 profile tires. Here's a nice example I love.
