Hey guys, wondering if putting 22" wheels are my 02 Qx4 would affect my ride at all? Was thinking about 20's, but i've seen plenty of SUV's with 22's. Also please recommend tire size for rim. Thanks in advanced for your feedback.

Here goes the link to the rims that i'm thinking about purchasing.

When you open up link scroll down and is the first rim with the solid black spoke cap. FYI, my truck is titanium silver.

it will make it a little rough..but i see you live in bk so just watch out for the pot holes...i have a 97 qx4 with 22's and im in the bronx...get 265-35-22...belive me this is the best size..(trial and error)..us livin in the city we'll be fine cause we dont have long trips.but the pot holes(bent rims) and the crack heads(stolen rims) are what u gotta watch out for..lol...good luck

Does that size tire have some meat on it? Don't want too much of a low profile tire. I hear you about the pot holes and getting the rims stolen.

It's either rims or sell the truck. Really thinking about getting an 04 G35 but the wife is really trying to convince me to keep the truck. By the way what did you think about the rim?

Thanks for the reply.

I have had a 98' and and a 01' QX4 both with 20" wheels on them and they can be a pain in the butt at times. I live outside DC but am in the city all of the time and if your really worried about "having meat" on the wheel your not going to want a 22" wheel as you have asked about. A 20" wheel will give you some meat at least- a 265-45-20 would work. You must pay attention to all of the numbers but 35 series (middle number) is the number that related to the "meat" as you described. A 35 is a very low profile tire however I doubt you could fit a 265-45-22, its going to rub a whole lot. I have a 265-45-20, it rubs only in reverse when turning if I am backing up too fast.

You are going to notice a huge difference between a 20" wheel with a 35 series tire and a 22" inch wheel with a 45 series. In my opinion sounds like you need the 20" and your loss of ride quality will be offset by a less tire roll and slightly improved handling.

i would go with the 22" i am happy with mines even wish i went with the 24" but didn"t want to lift the truck, my truck rides better and smoother with the 22" than the stock 17" rims with firestone, the 22" has falken 265 35 22, sometimes the brand tire matter too

265/35/R22 is the biggest you can go with 22's w/o modification. As previously stated there is very little 'meat' to these tires. I live in Winnipeg which has some of the worst roads in North America and I have yet to have problems with my 22's (22" Akuza OJ wrapped in 265/35R22 Yokohama Parada Spec X). Just takes a little tactical driving. (i.e. don't aim for the potholes).

The handling is crisp but not rough at all.

My city also happens to be the car theft capital of Canada. Don't park in shady areas and invest in some spline drive and locking lug nuts.

This might go w/o saying, but wash them often and don't ride on them in the winter Other than that, enjoy the baller status.
