they would work on the rear but not sure bout the front because of turning. I dont think they would, my fronts are real tight with no rubbing.

Do you think 22X9.5 all around with a 38 offset would work on our cars?

Looks great man. I little big for my taste but I am looking at almost the exact same rim in 20. I have the same color M so your pics really helped me realize how good it is going to look.Thanks.

Looks awesome, just way too big for where I drive, road conditions wise, I wanted to run 19s and was hoping to go 255 all around I guess if the 22s work in that width, the 19s should also? Anyone have any input? I have a 08 M45x with the stock 18s, was considering 20s but think 19s a better tire for overall ride quality and longevity on potholes.

Hey I have some 20's for sale. Staggered set. Check out my other thread.

Its a Lowenhart 3 Piece wheel . Heres a pic.

But yes, 255 will work on the M with the 19 or 20's. Yea I wouldnt recommend 22's where there are lots of potholes. If i lived somewhere other than washington I may run 20's depending on the roads. Washington state is one of the highest taxed states and they use it on roads, schools, and being green - liberal state.

Beautiful rim selection. Dont listen to all the haters out there that bash your rims. I think that if you love the car, then you made a wise choice.

Now for my opinion, this looks so sick. I have yet to let go of the aftermarket, custom tuner heart in me. ALthough I love the luxury, I am still a kid at heart and want the big a** rims. So nice choice.

How much was this setup? ANy ideas if these (in a 20) would fit the Y34?

Good looking wheel but your offset isn't right...you must be rubbing the hell out your fenders.

You should've gone with a 40-45mm offset....

you obviously dont read the thread before posting comments .... no rubbing at all , ZERO rubbing on turns, ZERO rubbing on steep inclines, ZERO rubbing with a fully loaded vehicle. ALL on 255/30/22 tires.

Offset is perfect at 38mm and they dont stick out past the fender.

You can clearly see the wheels are just about perfectly aligned below the fenders...which will cause tire contact under suspension compression. Did you roll your fenders? Have you tested the fittment with passengers in the backseat?

Does look good; the M can pull off 22s quite well. Glad you like them. But there's just on way in hell that can be a comfortable/smooth ride. At least relative to stock.

Nice ride man, I am thinking of going with 22's as well, any major difference beside, acceleration and braking, I hear there is a lil difference in the mpg as well. What the best tire size 255/30?Have you tried sitting 2 or 3 passengers in the back to make sure there is no rubbing? How much did you sell your stocks, I have 19 sport gun metal thinking of selling them to get same wheels as yours.

I love these wheels. They sort of remind me of BMW M3 wheels. They look great on your ride!

That someone would not happen to be you ATSELLAB?

Let me guess...RIDE quality in those bumpy/questionable Washington roads went to hell as a result of so little sidewall. And, the car remaining balanced is a issue. Luxury is all but gone with the thrill.

I went to 20 inch wheels and really test drove them first to see if I could stand the degradation in ride quality with a used set I borrowed from a friend. I was satisfied. The improved look along with improved handling won me over.

The thing about new tires and new rims is that they will change over the long run. Especially when you go up in size. Bigger size wheels do demand better quality wheels along with tires to retain some assemblance of factory. As some have said before, balancing, ride quality, and overall performance become more sensitive as wheel size goes up. Wheels are the quickest way to improve the look of a car.

Initially, my ride quality was actually a little softer than the 19's. Handling really was soft. Could not feel the road (minimal driver feedback). 900 miles later and now my combo is handling like a dream. Ride quality has gotten a little stiffer but remains relatively supple. The car is a handling beast! Extremely fun to drive. Compliments roll in frequently. The car is super smooth and quiet at highway speeds. Hopefully she will remain this way...

I'm not trying to steal this thread. But others should know that up sizing is risky business. It can be very rewarding (especially at first), but also can be equally long term disappointing.

Fact: 20's are pushing it, and 22's have pushed it.

Forged wheels are ideal because they keep roughly the same weight going from 18 to 19, 19 to 20, so on and so forth for a given amount of strength. They wiegh about 30% less. Then you're only dealing with less sidewall and scrub radius (offsets).

Since I went with sturdy non forged 20 inch wheels, I now have a extra 10 pounds on each corner (50 to 60). So far I'm extremely happy I did it. Time will tell in regards to the future.

I'll remain honest about it so others can learn. If indeed long term wise they become undesirable, then I too will see a set just like mine for sell.

The areo kit would help it look lower and set it off.

No WAYYYYYY!!

My 22's are staying on my vehicle.

Like I have said millions of times on this thread, I love the ride.

I live in washington state where they waste all the tax dollars on road construction to make the roads smooth.

I will post the pics of the other set next to my vehicle so u can see that I am keeping my 2's -- I LOVE MY SET!!!!!

I WOULD NOT GO ANY OTHER SIZE. I dont envy any M with 20's.

I sold some 20's last month that made the car look weak. But its just my opinion and im fine with that. The 20's DO NOT fill the wheel well and look small.

I rode around with the 20's for alittle while to get a taste and NEVER got any compliments on look. Switch the set and everyone wants an M. They think its a new model car.

BUT back to what I said before, if you live in a state with bad roads, dont do it. I dont, so I did it.

On another note, Ive had my 2's on for about 6 k miles, ive driven it all- from downtown seattle to 4 hr car trips. To me its all the same and NO bent rims.

ALSO, to anyone who is so sensitive to car ride quality- just stay stock. So there is no complaining. I hear too much of it on the threads. Rims are obviously for looks not the ride. I mean I hear complaints about going from 19" to 20". I just dont get the big deal. I LOVE my machine no matter what.

YES ------ 22's ALL THE WAY

Mine has the same wheels, same color and LOVE IT, my ride actually improved with the 22's.

I have seen some people upgrade to 20's with a wrong offset and makes the wheel look smaller than the 19", if you want to upgrade, go all the way and not just an inch unless u going to drop it some.

Compliments dont stop, car is PHAT, I haven't seen a difference in gas mileage or maybe its me not worried about it.

One good note: it makes the car UNIQUE !

LOL Then I stand corrected. I guess you are selling some for someone else in the classified section. What a coincidence.

Glad you're happy with them. They do look good-a little big for my own taste but look good just the same. Really, really nice looking wheels.

I did bump your ad for ya.

No, I aint selling for someone else, I may have used my other email address, not sure which one I used in the classified, its all a matter of option, some would prefer 18's as opposed to 19's ....20's as opposed to 22's.

There seem to be a confusion here, I am selling my OEM 19" sport wheels which I removed from my car with and replaced withsome 22"Gianelles like ATSELABB's and apparently he is/was selling his 22's which are the same as I have on my car now ...So to clarify, I am selling my 19' OEM sport wheels not 22's, those 22's aint going no where.

I guess ATSELABB owns two sets. Add to the coincidence gigatt owns a set as well (the statement of selling 22's was not aimed at you gigatt).

What is the weight difference between these vs stock? Doesn't the weight affect the life of the wheel bearings?
