I have some Japanese magazines(Option/Battle/Drift Tengoku...) and there is a ton of specs for S13 cars. I'm talking about close to 100 S13s. I was browsing through their specs and found this.

Most S13s, I mean over 90% of them, were running 215/40 17(8J) on the front. Rear tire varies a little bit. 235/40 17(8~9J), 235/45 17((8~9J)) or 235/40 18(8~9J). But among them most rear tires were 235/40 17. Is 215/40 and 235/40 is a good setup for S13? I saw only one 215/45 17 on the front. I'm very curious since I'm in a market for a new set of 17 inch tires.

215/40/17 is a pretty small diameter. 235/40/17 is still smaller than stock, but not by much.

If you really want to stagger your tires, run 215/45 front and 235/40 rear if you are on an 8/7" wheel stagger.

Yes, that's exactly what I thought, but I found only one guy running them( 215/45-F and 235/40-R). Radius of 215/45 is 12.3 and 235/40 is 12.2, so rear is bit smaller, but it won't be noticeable I guess.
