I bought a 04 350z with custom 21 rims already on it. Got a flat one day, took it to tire shop to get it fix. the shop broke 2 studs. Could the problem with the broken studs be from the rims being to big or the lug being stripped when tires was put on. need help!!!!

Hi, and welcome to NICO. I'm not the most knowledgable person here, but I figure I could respond with a few amateur guesses, fill in until the real knowledge gets here, and bump your thread all in one fell swoop. I'm almost certain that giant wheels wouldn't be the problem (unless, of course, they're bolted to some weak spacers or something of the like). It's also possible that the lugs were cross-threaded (either before, after, or when the wheels were put on). You didn't happen to get a look at the lugs that were broken, did you?

I bought mine witrh 20" on it. I have a good friend that owns a tire shop and he checked out the wheels for bends or anything wrong before I bought the car. I also asked a million questions about the effect of that size wheel on the car. According to him the wheels should not have any adverse effect on the car unless like the other guy said they used some cheap spacers. I suggest you take it to another wheel shop and have them look at it. The guy who put the rims on the first time could have screwed up the tread. Just get it fixed and you should be fine. Hope I helped. Good Luck!!! And congrats on the ride

P.S. Post some pics of the ride, I am curious about 21" on a Z.

They might have been torqued too much by the impact wrench when they were first installed. How's the ride? I have 18's and i feel it when I run over a cigarette. I imagine with 21's you'll know what brand cigarette.

BTW nice looking ride.
