I've been through the sticky on rims and I'm trying to put together an aggressive fit that will still allow me to run on any suspension setup. Meaning if I bottom out, there's still clearence. Here's the thing I want to run a 245/35/18 which is slightly larger than the stock diameter to give me a little more side wall. So what kind of offset am I looking at with a 20x8.5" I was thinking +40 to be safe....

sratch that, I guess they don't offer a +35 in a 114.3 bolt pattern. Hmmm 38 or 40 seems like too little of a difference to be asking questions... but the smaller the offset the bigger the lip.

Im a little confused, but im on 20x8.5... i dont see it bottoming out... but you have to make sure you can tuck it in the wheel well... If i remember correctly, my offset is 38 and it comes out to the wall... I dont know how much clearance you need on the side.. but im sure someone will chime in...

I meant something along the lines of a fitment that will never rub under any circumstances. I'd just hate to have the tires rub every time I fit a pot hole ect. The info that you're running on a +38 offet will help a lot as to where the wheel ends

I mean i dont know what you are planning on doing with the car... but heres my experience... Theres def massive room available in the wheel well...this we know... with my 20's on, and a offset that puts the tire past the body panel (forget about bottoming out, before that, id hit the body panel)...

I drive in NY, and have even had a hair-pulling trip thru Manhattan on my 20's with 35 profile tires...

I dont think you can make them rub... Unless you were to put extreme force on the top end of the car... lets say like in a movie where you go off a drawbridge to the other side (like in gone in 60 seconds)...

Oh, I got yah....Well I do plan to drop it modestly with Eibach's Pro kit, pick up the 20's, smoke the tail lights, stillen's front bumper, and bolt up a Borla exhaust (already have the intake). This would just about finish off my everyday driver project. Thanks for the help, I'll probably go +40 even though it's only 2mm over what you have
