Is anyone here running Mitsu's td06 20g turbo on their SR? If so, how did you have to modify the manifold or what manifold did you use? How much power are you making and at what level of boost? Is it streetable?

Like I told you in the other thread, yes I have one it's made by Trust, you need to move and reweld the wastegate flange for a LHD car. It made 430rwhp @ 1.3bar on an sr22det. Depending on cams and tuning will depend on how streetable it is. My setup is mainly for drag but it's still very streetable (in my opinion). It's a great turbo if you can get a deal on one and know someone who can reweld the wastegate.

Thanks solaris! I've heard some people say that even after rewelding the flange the manifold doesn't fit properly, I just needed to verify.

Did you make the manifold yourself or have someone make it? When are you fully spooled? When do you start feeling boost?

TIA

Oh, I see the big ol' greddy emblem. So Greddy with a reweld is the best way to go. Thanks!

i took a ssautochrome mani and put a t3 flange on it and i had to build a custom o2 pipe. i ended up finding out that you have to put extra support on that manifold to prevent it from cracking.

That's an intresting way of doing it, definitly have to support it with something for that heavy turbo. Good if you have some welding skills which it seems you have.

Lol, I feel like a total newb at this, you're right!!! So basically I'd have to have brackets made for the turbo. Any word on performance? I'm trying to determine whether or not a small shot of nitrous is necessary to have it spool today...

That ain't bad at all... why don't more people use this turbo?? Just cause of expensive manifold + work?

Yep, 3500-4000 depending on tuning and cams.

Why don't more people go this route? I guess their scared off by the fact of re-welding the wastegate. Learn how to weld and you good to go. From jspec.com $600 for the turbo and depending on which way you wanna go with manifold Trust for 1,600 or mod the cheapy ebay manifold for 400 or so.
