ok im gonna be picking one of these up for cheap this sat. i will admit that i know nothing about mitsu turbos. except the factory ones. people that do know about them help me out. how would this compare in flow to a t04e compressor with a 60a/r 57 trim. i dont know the EXACT specs on the turbo so well have to wait till i have it in my hands.

I was trying to figure that out as well. I do know that the 240sx GREDDY kit uses a 20g though. It doesn't seem to be too impressive. Of course that's non-intercooled and there are other factors as well.

damn, not one person out of the 160 people that have viewed this can help... i got the turbo a week ago. i believe its from buschur racing and on there they go for $1350 brand new. the compressor side of the turbo doesnt worry me. but, the exhaust side does. its small! i think its the td05 housing. can anybody give me some suggestions on what to do? ill probably just end up trading this for a t3/t4e. but till then i want to see if this will work or not.

ok after a lil bit of research it has the td05h exhaust housing on it. this turbo was from hahn racecraft. do yall think that the tdo5 exhaust housing will be too small?? all i want is atleast 300 hp to the ground and fast spool. i think i may just keep this thing as its capable of about 450 big ones. but i would like some other people to chime in here and discuss this with me and tell me their opinions. i got this thing with pocket change. hehe

Aceinhole uses a TD05 from a Volvo. He might have some info for you.

a 20g from hahn racecraft normally costs about 750 from them.the turbo is capable of about 500hp in an eclipse. the td05h turbine housing comes in 7cm2 and 8cm2, both sizes will flow more than enough for your 300hp to the ground. the nomenclature of these mitsu turbos has gotten a bit unclear for me. i see "20g's" with TD06 compressor housings and diffrent size turbine housings, wheel trims, wastegate flapper sizes, etc...so, im not really sure of exactly what qualifies as a "20g" anymore.as for garett equivalents, the 20g should have similar flow to a big t04b....a bit laggy for street but great for drag.(who knows, mabee with the ka's extra displacement it might work great.)

thanks for the insight. i think it will be a good contender for the ka. if its kinda laggy for the 4G63 it might be just right for the ka for some decent response which is what i want. oh yeah did i say i got this for $50? has very minor play but not a bit of oil in either housing. :)

For $50, you can't complain. A full rebuild of it would only run around $300 worst case, and that would only be needed if it were in bad shape. And a little side play is fine, but in/out is bad...

If its from Hahn, its probably one of their strange 'Super' 20g's, which are a Mitsu 10cm housing, mated to a td05 compressor. I can't remember if they clip or not, but I am pretty sure they don't.

On a 4g63, with proper plumbing(IC, Exhaust, etc), stock everything else, that should be at full spool around 3500 rpm. On the KA, I'd expect around 3200, unless you have some head port work on the exhaust side. One thing I will say is that the 20g isn't really efficient until it hits 18+ psi.

You'll find that many DSMers consider the 10cm housing to be undesirable, causing too much lag, for minimal top end gains. A better solution for the 20g is a 7cm housing and a 10-15 degree clip(this, I believe is what Buschur sells, I'll ask next time I am talking to him) It results in better spool, about the same top end power, but a fatter powerband. Again, the turbo really shines after 18psi.

http://turbochargers.com/Turbo...5.htmIs that what you have, or is the inlet on the exhaust housing larger?

the inlet is smaller, i think its a stock sized housing. i wanna try and find just a ported td05 housing. know where i can find one of those at??

If you want DSM style, http://www.forcedperformance.com is a good place. There are a few others, http://www.agpturbo.com might have some. There are many others.

Check some of the DSM message boards in the for sale section. If you get really desperate, I can probably find one for you. I might even have a spare, not sure. One went missing a while back and I never did look through my heap of parts for it.

if you have a ported spare one with no cracks ill take it off your hands. but no rush to try and find it. and oh im not gonna rebuild this one. im just gonna slap it on. it has no in-out shaft play at all. it does have a lil side-side shaft play but not enough for it to hit the housing with the wheels. you have to force it kinda for it to move, i stopped playing with it before i made it worse. but i know the kid whos car it came off of. and it never smoked one bit so im not even gonna bother. its in pretty good shape. now i just need a mani and a wg, some piping and a free weekend :)
