Not looking forward to this. I've always been able to do my own oil changes in my driveway. It looks like I'm now going to need to get it to a lift so I can remove the splash cover. These have been out for a while, has anyone come up with a short cut method?

Nope, and use a torque wrench on the plug. It's a plastic oil pan with a brass insert, and the inserts spin or come out completely if they're overtorqued. What's worse, they usually fail when they're being removed and not tightened, so if you're a lube tech, you end up with the customer blaming you for somebody else's stupidity. Good work, Nissan (NOT).

Correct torque is 25 lbs/ft, and don't dare exceed it.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to take it to my son's shop and put it on the two post.

Can you verify the the 23s take a 65FOE filter for the 3cyl turbo? I also suspect I'll need to use a new crush washed on the drain plug each oil change.

No, they take a 65F1B. Not sure what the difference is internally, but they're a different p/n and they're blue in color.

I am just now in the driveway doing my first oil change ('23 Rogue SL AWD w/1100 miles) and I noticed an oil leak from what appears to be the rear main seal or a defect in the block. Are you seeing any oil leaking?

Spilled oil at the fill tends to head straight down the back of the engine and looks like a main leak on the KR15's. We've seen a couple already that had a factory-installed spill but weren't actually leaking.

Thanks for the info. I almost threw up in the driveway when I saw this. The thought of my new engine having to be taken apart to replace the rear main seal at 1100 miles was almost too much to bear. So, it's possible that it was from the fill at the factory...whew, that's a relief! I'll clean it up and see it if comes back before I do the oil change.
