Hi,

Does the 2023 Rogue SL with Premium Package not come with front LED turn signals? Is this reserved just for Platinum? If so, this is disappointing because I couldn't find any documentation on this. Can I swap them out?

Thanks

I haven't dealt with directionals on a '23 yet, but in general Nissan prefers to use a traditional flasher circuit embedded in the BCM, which is incompatible with LED's because of hyperflash. You can swap in LED bulbs, but you'll need to add ballast resistors to stabilize the flash rate.

I used these LASFIT LED turn signal bulbs. No hyper flashing.

Do you know if the harnesses are the same on the LED & halogen models? Can one theoretically pick up a pair of platinum turn signal / DRL shrouds and plug & play? Such as this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175585754000

I'll have to look it up tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure the LED versions have controllers that talk to the IPDM via a LIN bus. If so, even if the wiring is compatible, they won't be interchangeable without also reconfiguring or replacing the IPDM.

Just looked in the EWD and there's no halogen option showing for any of the gen3's ('21~'23). They're LED for both high and low beam and have a controller for each headlight. The power setup is a little weird, the controller has its own power supply but the IPDM supplies power for the headlights independent of that by way of a Smart FET. So for a headlight request, the IPDM must both turn on the FET and send a LIN command. Wiring seems to be identical across all three MY's.

Thank you for looking into this.

So what exactly would be needed to do this swap?

That's not the sort of thing Nissan documents, but since the wiring seems to be the same on all of them, I'd think the IPDM would just need to be reconfigured to give the proper commands to the upscale lights. The question is, what part number to configure it with. I think you'd need to get the VIN from a vehicle which already has those lights, then have the Parts Department at a dealership look up the corresponding ROM ID.
