Does anyone have any instructions or know of a video showing how to remove the front grille. I want to replace the chrome grille with the midnight black grille.

Thank you for your help

If you want to remove the original grille without damaging it, make sure you have a good collection of hook tools and expect a struggle anyway. Most of the side and lower pawls are very difficult to access and relieve without removing the whole bumper cover.

Thank you so much for your help.
I attempted to do it yesterday but I was not able to reach all the pawls with my fingers. What kind of hook tools are you suggesting?
How do you remove the clips at the top 2 corners? Just pull or I need to release some sort of locking mechanism?
I don't want to damage the grille so I need to know all my angles before trying again.
Thanks again

The clips at the top corners will surrender if you just give them a hard yank. I own a whole hook set in a variety of shapes and lengths, but frankly, the three times I've needed to get behind a gen3 grille, I loosened one side of the bumper cover to get in there. Screwing around trying to get all the pawls from the top just wasn't worth it.

Ok thanks.
I don't know if I want to remove the bumper cover to get to the grille . I'll try the hard way first .
Thank you again for your input.

On the 2018 which is slightly less it seems... It has weird hooks at the top after removing 4 push-button style clips ( lift up and pull out ).. The hooks at the top just need to be pressed in one direction and they ( either towards the driver side or passenger side ) and they come out. Next there are flat spade hooks which have a lip in the middle you press up or down and they come out. Those head-looking spike-style clips are annoying.

So it kind of looks like

| >O< |

Where > and < are connecting into that lip. If you take a small flat-head and stick it between >XOX< where the X is, on either side - usually you only need to do one side, the clip will release. Sometimes you may have to separate them on both sides.

IF you want I can take a photo or short video on the 2018.

I recorded a video and I had to use 2 hands so I didn't get the exact thing of what I did so I explained it and took a photo of the annoying clip in question. If there is any other clarification needed let me know.

So the photo shows the female receptacle for the clip that you marked. This is from the opposite direction so I added a diagram of approx how the pin fits in. The two tabs on either side, you may see me pointing it out in the video although the first video didn't save for some reason so I'll double-check to see if I got it all. If not I'll have someone hold the camera for me so I can show it.

Sorry that it is broken up the first video stopped and then I set the phone down a few times.

If these don't help, let me know which area I can give you a better close-up or clarification of.

Hi everyone ,
I just replaced the chrome grille with the midnight black one.
It is quite easy if you take your time, study the diagram and have the hook tools. I started at the top right corner and work my way around to the other side.
No damages.
Thank you again for all your help.
