I recently got a 2021 Rogue and finding using for a MTB to be a bit of a not so easy issue, especially if a 3rd person is going to ride in the vehicle or a 2nd bike.

I've noticed so many SUV's and crossovers with the trailer hitch bike racks (or whatever they're called)...

How does one go about getting these i.e. good source for install and price and style(s) etc? It seems U-haul does it, there are DIY ways (I suck at DIY) and maybe some bike shops do this as well.

Thanks for any info on this!

Lots of companies make hitches for the gen3's and lots of companies also make hitch-mount bike carriers. The only problem you may have is the Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB), you may need to turn it off every time you start the car with the bikes in place. The gen3's aren't as finicky about false RAB signals as the gen2's because the sensors are in a better spot, but depending on the carrier and bikes, you may still have issues.

Ok cool, thank you. Are these installed or DIY mostly? I see U haul offers them as well, but I feel that probably isn't the best source for a MTB/bike rack product.

It's all DIY and hitch/trailer dealers. For actual towing the car is only rated for 1350 pounds, and Nissan discommends any towing at all. So there's no OE hitch available, aftermarket is all there is.

I see that the prices of racks start at $400 and most seem around 700-900!!!! That's NOT including a trailer hitch!

WOW, insane and as much as just one bike lol. I see them all over, so I didn't think they were so pricey and more affordable.

Here's a very nice swing-away for $150, and there are fixed ones for under $100. I dunno where you're shopping, but it must be the high priced spread.

PS - If you have the receiver on the car, you don't need a hitch. Virtually all of these pin into the receiver in place of a ball mount or use a drawbar without a ball.
