2018 Rogue SL Platinum rear bumper sensors ...

My 2018 Rogue SL Platinum is working fine but I noticed that some same generation Rogues have different sensors on the rear bumpers. I see some with the round sensors, which I believe are ultrasonic backup sensors.

My Rogue doesn't have those but I have the short-range radar versions, which works fine.

My simple questions:

• Why isn't my Rogue equipped with those "round" sensors?

• Are they not needed in this Platinum version?

Those were not added until the 2019 version. They also created a lot of headaches for people with bike racks, etc. I had a 2018 SL Platinum as well and did not miss them. My 2021 SL Premium has them but I am not a big fan of all the nanny features.

No, the high-powered sensors for RAB weren't added till '19, but earlier versions could come with standard parking sonar. Not sure why a Platinum of any year wouldn't have them, that's odd.

My 2018 Rogue SL has the Platinum Package but did not have those sensors. In any event, I am ok with what I have. I was just curious as to why some had them and others didn't. Maybe my 2018 is an earlier version, before a cut in?

No, regular rear sonar goes back to the '14's. Some have it and some don't, but the Platinums usually have every available option. I'm a little puzzled as to why your ride wouldn't have it.
