hello, hoping someone can shed some light

i have the following codes
p0101a - mass air or volume air flow b circuit
u0284 - manufacture control
p0300 - random cylinder misfire
p0106 - absolute pressure sensor circuit

the engine got replaced and ran for about 200kms then all these codes came up. it tries to start but it dies right away, like something is not letting it start fully.

it keeps on cranking then tries to start but doesn't want to. is there something i can check?

any insight would be great. engine km is about 140, 000 km

thanks

You have more than one problem going on. U0284 is lost communication between the ECM and the Grille Shutter, it usually reflects either a bad Shutter or damaged wiring from road debris. The P0300 is probably derivative from the other two engine codes. The P0101 and P0106 are joined at the hip, P0101 is a "makes no sense" code for the induction and P0106 is a "makes no sense" code for atmospheric pressure versus the calculated manifold pressure. The most obvious suspect is a major vacuum leak, but it could also result from an obstructed or dead MAF or a dead Atmospheric sensor. The Atmospheric is located on top of the engine at the extreme passenger end of the intake plenum. The first thing I'd check for is debris in the MAF. Your engine takes in about 9000 gallons of air for every gallon of gasoline, so you don't need rocket science to understand the results of the ECM not knowing how much air is coming in. Even a piece of lint or insect wing can cause an engine that barely runs or doesn't run at all.

Cleaned the mass air flow sensor. Took out the air filter box and air Duct that connects to the throttle body, tried to start and still the same.

Keep getting the manifold absolute pressure sensor code. Where is the sensor located ?

Thanks

It's at the extreme passenger-side end of the intake plenum, right on top. It will have 3 wires, Red-White-Black. White is data, Black is ground, Red is power (not sure if it's 5V or 12V).

But would this sensor cause the engine to act like this ?

Nine thousand gallons of air. Let's suppose the ECM thinks it's six, or twelve? Hmmm.... yah.

Are you saying there’s some sort of blockage in the air intake ?

No, I'm saying if the ECM thinks the engine is sucking 9 gps of air and it's really taking in 6, the mixture will be rich enough to stink out your whole neighborhood and foul your plugs. If the ECM thinks it's sucking 3 and it's really 6, the mixture will be too lean to run or even start. When sensors lie, bad things happen.

The grille shutter code, and the grille is damaged, would that cause it to crank and not start ? Or I’m jumping to conclusions?

You're jumping. The Shutter can't cause a no-start.

Title revised.

Just a friendly tip... USE THE CORRECT TITLE: That means, make sure your title has the topic at hand. Don't title something: "I have a question" or "Small concern" or "Rogue issues". Instead title it: "Tire tpms question" or "Rear bumper paint issue".
