2018 Pathfinder. Factory remote start for base model

I have a basic 2018 with a 3 button FOB
I want to add the factory remote start
The cost is around $200 but it needs to be factory programed for the 4 button FOB.
Does anyone know if I install this option will I be able to use my 3 button FOB until I bring it to the dealer to get programed?
Can this possibly be programmed by a locksmith? I know they can program FOBs

Welcome to NICOCLUB.

I am not sure what "installing this option" entails, but I believe you will still be able to use your 3-button fob since nobody will have unprogrammed it yet.
However, I would hate to misguided you and lead to your car being grounded. I will copy your post over to the dedicated pathfinder forum and hopefully someone who has direct experience with this can post something up.
