I don't see any mention of the required filters here. Anyone have part numbers for the filter or a good website I can look them up on?
Amazon has a three pack:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNCFSLC5

It is a cartridge filter, just like a cartridge oil filter.

..
Thanks a lot for the info! I will try and take some pics of mine. 260k KM current, CVT drain at 90k, 170k, 240k but pan never been dropped (all dealer records state drain and refill)

Hauled a heavy-ish trailer across the continent just a few months ago, so I feel it's the right time for a full service.

Here's the CVT leveling plug, but I don't recommend using it unless your tranny leaks or you want to calibrate a dipstick. Otherwise, just drain into a see-through bucket and mark what you drain out, then refill that exact amount:

It's a little difficult to orient on the transfer case because your pic isn't panned out far, but here's the fill plug drawing from the FSM. Refilling is like a standard rear end, fill to the bottom of the hole. Make sure the car is level:

The drain plug is on the black transmission pan.

Fill with a funnel at the dipstick tube. You can remove the cap.

Even when you remove the drain plug, and all the fluid comes
out, there will still be a ~quart in the pan. This is because
the plug landing is raised up, and has a 1/4" collar that is also
raised up, for about .5" of rise, which means it all won't drain out:
Image

NISSAN PROCEDURE:
Drain, Fill (4 qts), start car, idle in "P" 5 seconds, Brake; "R" 5 seconds, "D" 5 seconds, "P" turn it off.
Drain, Fill (4 qts) , start car, idle in "P" 5 seconds, Brake; R" 5 seconds, "D" 5 seconds, "P" turn it off.
Drain, New Plug Gasket, Fill, start car, level procedure, DONE!
This is why is costs $288+ at a dealer. This is so you will have > 75% fresh fluid.

I just fill it cold until fluid comes out the level hole, and I let it go till it
drips. Then I put the level plug back in and I am done. A half pint over
won't hurt anything. Walmart has the 4-quart Castrol CVT jugs for $24.

IF you have the miles, then do the pan drop and filter change after the second fill,
so your 3rd fill will be with a new filter. You will be putting about 5-quarts in
with the pan drop. If you do the NISSAN procedure without a pan drop, you will
need three jugs of CVT fluid. IF you do the pan drop on the 3rd fill, you need an
extra quart.

If you are doing 1200 miles a week, changing the fluid every 50k instead of 30k would be fine. Highway miles are easy on a car, especially when using cruise control. My first Rogue was a pharmaceutical rep car and had 103k miles in 2 years. Easy miles for sure.

IF you're referring to me, I also have an aux cooler on after the radiator.
I cam safely change it very 50,000 miles. However, the x-fer case and
diff I will do every 30-35K. There is only .6 pints in the x-fer case, and
that's just not enough. The diff doesn't even take a quart, also not
enough. SO, they need changed more often, using AWD or not because
it's all still spinning.

Isn’t the transfer case part of the transmission in this generation Rogue? That’s what the dealer told me when the did my 2016 back when I had it.

I never found a drain or fill plug where the driveshaft goes into the transmission.

It's attached to the tranny but has separate fluid.

Does it also use CVT fluid?

No, I think all the gen2's use GL-5 80W90 for both the transfer and diff.

Short and sweet video showing the xfer case and rear diff.

@Svtrit and remember to get one of those fluid transfer pumps if you don't have one yet to change the oil in the transfer case or diff.

Thanks for the video and the comment on the pump. As an avid Jeeper, I have a pump for my transmission and transfer case maintenance in the Jeep.

I’ll add this to my next oil change at 30k miles, as I plan on doing the transmission then.

Remember to always loosen the fill port before removing the drain port!

Thanks. To to be safe can i just do 8 quarts and then top it if required ?

I also saw this product in Amazon which has dip stick and it is compatible with rogue. In youtube i saw someone using the dipstick.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08NWS8RSD

will it wok to measure?

Use the leveling plug. You can't screw around with the level on a CVT. Even half a quart over will eventually kill it, and a full quart over is a real fast death sentence. Once you get it right with the leveling plug, you can mark and calibrate an aftermarket stick.

Correct. The tranny needs to be warm and the car level, but there's no other big trick to it.
