2017 vs 2018 interior

I had a 2017.5 Nissan Rogue SV with sun and sound package that I got into an accident with and it was totaled out. I just purchased the 2018 as a replacement with the same package and I noticed the dashboard no longer has soft material above the glove compartment. I could have swore my 2017 had the soft material with the stitching, now it's replaced with hard plastic on the 2018.
Can anyone confirm?
It seems like there is some minor Details from the 2017 to the 2018 on the interior that are different. I am coming from a blue exterior to a gray exterior, but I also could have sworn the seat had some blue stitching in it and or lighter gray, whereas now it is all grey as far as the interior seats go.
The lighter gray accents on the 2017 plus the soft material made it look a lot more like a luxury car. I wonder why they changed it?

My 2018 Rogue Hybrid has what looks like leather (not sure it is) above the glove box, but it does have switching across it.
