My wifes 2017 Rogue is leaking somewhere around the sunroof. I have cleared the front drains but the water seems to be coming in just behind the passenger front seat. How do you clear the rear drain? I assume it has one.

The left rear is pretty easy to get at. Remove the jack and toolkit and shine a flashlight down into the fender, you'll see the hose and drain fitting. Remove the hose and blow it backward in case there's anything in it. Chances are it's clear and the clog is actually in the drain fitting. Stick a stubby screwdriver through the fitting and snap off the diffuser nub, those are what cause the clogs. The righthand side is a much bigger PITA to get at, you need to remove the hatch sill plate and partially peel back the lower cargo area trim. Clearing it is the same exercise. When testing for rear clogs, park the car on a slight uphill. The roof orientation on the Rogues means the front drains do all the work on level ground.

The diffuser nubs are what cause all the problems at both ends, so if you haven't pulled the front cowl and busted them out, you'll do yourself a great service by doing so. Here's what you're looking for:

yeah our driveway is a slight hill and this is when it seems to leak. The front diffusers are already taken out and drain fine but apparently the rear ones are clogged. What is the hatch sill plate?

The plastic that runs across the bottom sill of the hatch opening. The corners of it interlock with the bottoms of the side panels, so you can't budge the side panels without removing it.

So you do you get that sucker out without breaking it?

Check out INT-33 here, your '17 won't be any different from a '16:

They didn't make it easy. There are pushclips on the inside wall holding the sill plate in place, once those are removed you can pop the bowtie on the striker and the whole sill plate will pull loose. It also helps to remove the rear of the two 6mm (10mm head) screws at the base of the side panel, they're underneath circular pop-off covers. Pull the hatch welt partially off and then you can pull the side panel away from the body enough to reach down in there. Unless you want to yank the whole panel, you have to work blind and feel for the hose and fitting.

I assume it is part 17 "luggage rear plate" I didn't look hard at it last nite but I didn't notice any clips will look again and what is the "proper tool" lol

If you have fingernails then you can remove the pushclips with no tools, or just push a flathead screwdriver underneath the heads and pop them. There's one at each corner on the inside wall, you'll see them when you lift the floor panel covering the spare well. I can't recall if there's a middle one or not.
