2017 Rogue power lift gate supports - clip replacement

My 2017 rogue has power rear lift gate which works perfectly fine. I've noticed that the power lift shock clips have rusted and one side is broken and the other isn't far behind.

I'm not buying a new set of motorized shocks for a tiny clip. Has anyone tried replacing the end of the shocks with the ones shown (10mm ball, M6 thread)? Or otherwise?

oh, man... I feel your pain!

mine recently fell off, but those clips didn't broke.
tried asking around... but - no joy.

as an idea - might go to junk yard and ask there.
or might just buy cheapest bonnet shocks from temu/aliexpress/ebay for those clips...

I bought that set that I mentioned but I'm trying to plan ahead. Once I touch the shocks they may not go back on and if the new shock ends don't fit I'm SOL without a trunk until I do. I almost bought a non-motorized set to steal the ends off of them but I'm not positive the thread's will match ugh.

p.s. I just removed both shocks, cleaned them, lubricated and put them back. I can always buy 400bucks/piece later

I meant I didn't want to replace the shocks because only the clip is broken (its holding for now lol) and I'm trying to find a work around. I've bought two different sizes (M6 & M8) of the shock end fittings from amazon. We'll see if I can just swap the ends or not.

let us know - which of those were fit

in my opinion - you just take that metallic clip and don't replace anything else. and possibly remove that "end cup" from ball and clean out rust (in my case it was a lot!). after - use white litium grease. and with more or less swearing - you'll be good

Yup clip swap sound like step one and then, cursing if that doesn't work and they replacing the whole end fitting.... All while not dropping the door on my head ha

door doesn't drop (at least in my case)... but there will be a lot of trial and error (especially if there is rust all over the place).
