2017 QX50 Reviews

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I am starting to look for a 2017 QX50 with the expectation of a purchase date somewhere in the early or mid part of 2017. I'm hoping for an official announcement of the totally revamped 2018 QX50 so that the present model (2017) will sink in interest and value allowing for a better deal. Anyone purchased a 2017 recently? What equipment did you get and what are your impressions? I understand it is basically a G37 sedan raised and having an 06 G35 sedan for almost 11 years with 86,000 miles is the main reason I want this car as it has been proven. I'm somewhat disappointed that the car has gotten expensive if it is loaded with every option ($44,800 MSRP). I may stop with the 3rd package just so that I can get the HID headlights. Any feedback would greatly be appreciated.

I bought my 2010 exactly for that reason. I wanted the performance of the G35 in an interesting hatch back format, which I always loved. I am not disappointed. It rides higher but similarly to the G 35 and is much more practical. However it is a much more sophisticated ride: smoother, quieter, and much more, well, sophisticated. I cannot comment on the price difference in the states but the interior is also much more sophisticated and luxurious compared to a G35. You'll enjoy yours. Is the 2018 model totally different?

Yes it's reported that the 2018 will be totally revamped resembling the QX30 and going with front wheel drive. The engine will be changed as well will a 4 cylinder turbo be one of them. I want to get my 2017 QX50 before any of these chanages. i took a 2017 Q50 4 cylinder turbo out as a loaner recently and was extremely disappointed.

I agree with the selection of a 2017 then....I would not get the 2018 if it is based on a front wheel platform. Being a rwd biased platform makes the EX and QX such wonderful cars.... thanks for the heads up.
