2017 Q50 Key FOB battery dies quickly

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

As the title reads, I own a 2017 Q50 3.0t that the key fob battery only lasts about a month. At that point, we get the message "incorrect Key ID". After placing the key fob on the push button, I can start the car.
Anyone experiencing this? Searched the forum and really got nowhere.

I've had these style key fobs since 2007 on 4 different cars and have never had a similar issue. Could the buttons be getting pressed when in your pocket?

no Sir. We bought the car used and only received 1 Fob. My wife carries the key fob on a lanyard around her neck on her job. Other times the keys are in the center console or hanging up at home.

Problem is probably within the key fob circuitry causing the battery to drain, might need to replace the key fob

Why?

All Infiniti's purchased at the dealer come with two.

I'm assuming that you purchased from a non Infiniti dealer and they screwed you with a non OEM Fob?

If you did purchase from an Infiniti dealer go back there and request two new OEM Fobs

You can buy another similar new fob online and have Infiniti cut the key and reprogram to your car. It will probably cost you around 125-ish for the key cut and reprogram.
