2017.5 Rogue SV jumps out of PARK

2017.5 Rogue SV 6 weeks old, 1250 miles

Pull into parking stall. Go to shift to PARK, foot on brake (only way you can shift into park), car REVS up and forward, jumps curb and smashes into concrete barrier about 2ft away. DAMAGE extensive.

Hood front dented in and down, front bumper cracked and pushed down, front grill broken and parts cracked, hood shifted, large gap on passenger side, front passenger side quarter panel cracked and scrapped, suspect radiator support bent and pushed downward.

We KNOW it was in park because had to pull BACK on gear shifter to get to REVERSE to back away from barrier.

Anyone seen this before?

At body shop for estimate now, setting up dealer appt now.

Will post body estimate when I get an idea.

Any unusual things happen when shifting the lever prior to this? Sounds like the linkage may be at fault or an electrical connection.
