I am considering a 2016 Altima SL. Are the SL headlights LED or Halogen. I find conflicting info. Thank you

Are you looking at the 2.5 or the 3.5?

If you're looking at the 2.5 SL, it will only have LED's if it has the Tech with LED Package (see below). NOTE: Per Nissan, LED's were a late addition to the vehicle.

LED's were standard on the 3.5, but again LED's were a late addition to the vehicle, so some early production models may be equipped with halogens. I have been unable to pin down when they switched over.
Tech with LED Package:
Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), NissanConnect with Navigation, Mobile Apps and Services Powered by SiriusXM®, 7.0-inch color audio display, Nissan Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, SiriusXM® Traffic, SiriusXM® Travel Link (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), One-Shot Destination Entry with Voice Recognition, Automatic Collision Notification, Remote Start via Smartphone*, Emergency Call, Stolen Vehicle Locator, Dealer Service Scheduling and Maintenance Alerts, smoked headlight housings, LED headlights with Signature Daytime Running Lights.

Thanks. It's the 2016 SL. Loaded. However it has Haolgens. I am now debating as to weather I want to add LEDS or HIDS????????

My SL 3.5 is the early edition and has halogen headlights which I will change to HIDs. However this model runs the fogs as DLRs. I would like to use LEDs in the fogs but I need to know if the DRL function with the fogs is at full or reduced power. ie will I need the cab bus.??

Try looking at the fog lights in the daylight when the DRLs are engaged, then compare it to the fog light being manually turned on. Let us know if you see a difference.

I know Nissan sells LED fog light kits as an upgrade.

There are two bulbs in the headlight housing. One is for the DRL and the other is the fog light during normal headlight use.
