2016 Rogue - Transponder not working well

Hi,

My key transponder doesn't work well. To start the car, I have to press on lock/unlock in order for the starter to recognize the fob.

I have recently changed the battery on the fob so that's out of the question.

Did I mess something up when I replaced the battery? I was careful

Did you place the battery when you replaced the battery? Also, when you put the key in the pocket, is there anything else in that pocket? I also have this issue, but its more likely the signal between the fob and the car having a loose transmittance. If its not that, then its just the materials that are used in the Rogue.
