2016 Rogue SL w/4 cameras ... rear camera proximity detection beep?

My 2016 Rogue SL has the 4 cameras but not the collision avoidance or lane change stuff, which is fine. However, I noticed that the backup camera does have built-in software that detects close proximity items as the frame of the AV screen turns yellow.

Is there a software or hardware update, patch or "hack" where the unit would also generate an audible "beep"? It's evident that the camera software has this proximity detection capability but I wonder if there is a "speaker" or "sonalert' connection on the rear that's simply not used ... or a hidden function to turn it on.

I am not sure, as I have never bothered to mod my Rogue yet at all, but you could try and see if there is such a thing for it. If not, you are better off with what Nissan gave you in the Rogue.

I had a 2015 SL AWD Rogue and what you are refering to is the MOD((Moving Object Detection). Mine would beep every time something came into one of the frames. Yours should aslo. I didn’t have to turn on anything to get the beep. Its also the same in my 2017.5 Murano SL, the audible warning is always on. Review the manual if you have it or you can get it online by googling Nissan Owners Portal and get it there for free . You can’t adjust the volume for the beep. Hope this helps.

Interesting ... I'll review the manual again as I might have missed something. There is definitely no "beep" or tone, just the yellow frame when in backup mode. Apart from that the AV system works fine.

Just to be clear, the version I have is with the 4 cameras but I don't have the lane change or forward looking auto-braking, etc. I need to check mine includes the MOD ... it should as the frame turns yellow.

Audio chimes work for other "chime related" functions but not with the MOD. The frame turns yellow but no chime.Checked all of the settings but no joy. \

Remember that I have the 4 cameras and MOD for backup but NOT the lane change or other functions.

Next time I go to my Nissan dealer I'll ask them but I wonder if this is part of what was NOT included.

Mine lights up the MOD in blue and emits an audible beep when backing up if it sees an object.

The cameras come standard with the SL trim. Does anyone else other than you drive the car? Did anyone other than you messed with the HU before? These are another set of important and critical questions you gotta ask yourself, because the audiable chime should come even with someone screws up with the settings... maybe its time to disconnect and reconnect the car's battery and also reset the HU.
