Hi

I have a 2016 Nissan Rogue SL AWD -- My lift gate has a couple of problems namely it won't open or close either with the remotes, interior dash mounted lift gate switch or rear open close switch
Usually there's a beep before it would open or close. of which doesn't work. and the latch does not activate --- so it's always unlocked

the current status is that I have to manually open and close my lift gate manually (forcing the power struts) --- it doesn't lock --- and when i go over a speed bump my trunk will slightly open and close while driving giving temporary a warning on my dash -- I haven't I haven't lost anything from trunk yet :)

I assume that it might be a fuse -- does anyone know where it could be and what it's called? I checked the fuse box located on the drivers side and couldn't find anything that made sense
or does anyone have any idea about what it could be?

please let me know as I would like to minimize using the "stealership" to solve the issue -- sometimes they make things worse

Its probably the latch mechanism due to the symptoms that you are saying. Also, it is also the wiring/electrical associated with power operation.

There's no "normal" fuse for the Auto Back Door system, it has a 30A fusible link (link# K) inside the underhood fuse and fusible link box and a circuit breaker located on the relay rack behind the HVAC control panel. The breaker is identifiable by having two white wires.

Before you go chasing those, have the ABD system checked for codes by a dealer or someone with a high-end scanner that can access it. There are many DTC's that will make the ABD go "limp" until a reset is performed. The most likely culprits are a bad half-latch switch in the lock assembly or a bad spindle encoder. Only chase a power issue if the code reader shows the ABD absent on the CANbus.
