Remote Start & Homelink Mirror

First, sorry if this already has been asked before...
On a fully loaded 2016 Rogue (all options) are these features available?

1. Automatic lift gate?
All Nissan specs and features only reference power lift gate but some articles that talk about 2016 features mention a foot activated lift gate.

2. Remote start...
Is this available through the Nissan Connect platform?

3. Home Link mirror.
Do any Rogues come with this installed? I know Nissan sells this separately and service dept will install it but has anyone seen a Rogue on the lot with this already available.

4. When you are backing up and if there is a moving object from the side or you get close to another car or well...will you get an alert?

Thanks

As a 2016 owner will respond based on my experience.

1. Power lift gate is just that - there were thoughts that it might be foot activated but appears that it never made it into production for the 2016 model year. However, there are 3 ways to open the lift gate - from the fob, from the lift gate itself & from inside the cabin (lower dash on DS).

2. Don't think it's available thru Nissan Connect - I think it has to be hard wired - I have one on my 16 & it is programmed into the key fob - push lock button 3 times for it to start.

3. I saw a home link mirror on an SL model on my dealers showroom floor - it may have been dealer installed - the brochure suggests an "auto-dimming" rv mirror on the SL

4. There is a "moving object detection" feature & it also beeps (once) when there is a stationary object.

Hope this helps.....

Thanks for the response. That pretty much clarifies everything except remote start. Its a Nissan Connect feature and fully loaded Nissan has it. So want to see if anyone has this:

I have a fully loaded Rogue SL AWD and Remote Start is not an option for the 15 and 16. I have seen and used it on a 15 Altima. The key fob had 4 buttons and one was the remote start. Nissan might be able to install the same remote start on a Rogue but you would have to talk to the service dept. Also the Auto Dimming is on the Homelink Mirror, I have it on mine.

What does your Nissan Connect service include?
I wonder why Nissan lists remote start as part of the service but then the Rogue doesn't have it even though it has the Connect feature.

Do you have the Nissan Connect app with active subscription and does it look like this?

When we got the 2012 Rogue the dealer gave us $500 to install a 3rd party remote starter. It has been OK but not great. Definitely not as good as factory systems that you can control from your phone.

May have to wait for 2017 :)

Ok, I confirmed with NissanUSA that although the 2016 Rogue has Nissan Connect it doesn't have remote start.

That sucks. Will have to wait for 2017 model or another SUV.

Nissan seems slow in providing technological features. In 2012 the Rogue didn't have remote start but my piece of crap mid range 2011 Dodge charger did and now it's 2016 and still no remote start even in the fully loaded version?

My Nissan Connect does not look like that. I have the Basic Subscription only. You can try to go aftermarket but since the vehicle is so new they might have trouble. Did you ask the dealer if they can install the same remote start from an 2015-16 Altima?

Yeah, Nissan confirmed that the current Rogue doesn't have remote start as part of the connect package.

I am going to wait for the 2017 model which will have it and also look into Mazda CX5.

Don't want an aftermarket remote start. That's what my wife has on her 2012 Rogue. The dealer reimbursed us $500 to have it installed at a 3rd party shop. Back then other models had remote start but again the Rogue did not. Dealer said they don't install any remote starters. So we got an outside install and it took awhile and cost right about $500. It still works but it's not great. Its just a basic starter with it's own keyfob, mediocre range, no confirmation, etc...The factory systems that you can control from your phone are much better.

I had a Drone Mobile remote start installed on my Forester and having it installed on my 2016 Rogue SL (cert. pre-owned). Works via cell - start anywhere in the country you have cell service.

Expensive $600 or so installed. The thing I like about it versus the Nissan Connect (if remote start worked with the Rogue -- which is doesn't) is that Nissan charges $19.95 a month ($239.40/yr) for the package that includes Remote start whereas Drone Mobile is $49.99 a year (or $119.99 for three years.) Since I drive my car for years it adds up.

Of course if the 2017 has it included then you save the cost of $600 install. Fingers crossed for you.
