2016 redsport lowering?

In 2014, the G37 Sedan became Infiniti Q50. G37 Coupe and Convertible became Infiniti Q60 under Infiniti's new naming structure - Here's the place to discuss the Q50 and Q60!

Hello traded my q70L and I just got my q50 redsport.
My question does anyone know if i can just put on coilovers without any issues? Since it has that new DDS and its electronic will i get a SES light?

That's a very good question. My knee-jerk reaction is you could install springs but not coilovers if you wished to retain the DDS. I'll have to look into this a bit more.

"In all modes, Dynamic Digital Suspension (DDS) also constantly adjusts the shock absorber valve within a wide range of damping force to control body motion when cornering. It monitors body roll, pitch and bounce rate to restrain body motion for a comfortable, confident and insulated ride in all conditions, ensuring that bumps and undulating road conditions are absorbed to maintain flat body posture."

Tells me you can only replace the springs unless you want to lose the auto-adjustable capabilities of the DDS system.

yea i saw that but was wondering with lowering springs will the ride suffer to much is the question.
I don't mind firm but excessive stiffness will suck, was looking at the RSR springs.

I know the BC coils I have on my coupe are overly stiff. RSR are supposed to be pretty decent but until I get mine installed on my '14 I won't know for sure.

I've narrowed it down to the super downs,i like it low.
I liked my BC coilovers on q70 it rode fine and i had 22s on it.

My BC's are stiff as hell. They came with 12k front and 10k rear spring rates which is a huge difference from the factory sport spring. I changed the rear to 8k which helped but have not changed the front to 10k yet, have to wait until I do the next maintenance on my front suspension, which will be soon as it seems the front passenger strut is weak.

BTW, with the drop of the super downs I would suggest looking into front and rear camber/toe kits.

i heard that rs-r is already looking at the Redsport already.
It think the redsport is a little lower than q50s
so I'm thinking putting the super downs would be to much.

i never install camber kits and never have bad wear, maybe because i only drive my cars 3-5k a year.
Thats because my q70 was dropped like 3"s atleast.

A few items on this topic gents. I spoke to reps at RsR and Tanabe and both are in the process of getting out a product according to them. The only lowering springs available now are made by Swift. I just purchased and had installed so I can validate they fit. The rep at Swift was also very helpful and interested in feedback.

they just sold you the same springs from a q50s,i know they fit. the question is did you get the drop, because on there webpage it shows 1(F) .6 (R)
i think the RS is lower than a regular q50s by a .6-1"
Can you feel the difference when changing the suspension from standard to sport?

I'm interested in all of this as well...

I know the RSR Super Downs were a hefty drop on the 3.7L sport RWDs... far too much for my taste. The Down-Sus were better, IMHO.

I'd drive it a few thousand miles before I messed with it. I suspect anything you do will be a down grade in performance, although it may look cooler..

I used Eibach Pro-Kit springs E10-44-001-01-22 off a 2014 Q50 on my Red Sport and they fit fine. The drop is perfect and not too low. Handling is amazing with a good ride quality. No issues with the electronic function of the struts. I also installed a Tanabe strut tower bar from the same 2014 Q50.
