I currently have a 2014 Rogue SL that I'm happy with, but a few months ago I test drove a 2015 Murano Platinum while having the Rogue serviced. Naturally now I want one and this afternoon while having my tires rotated I was looking at the stunning new Maxima. Talking to the dealer he says the 2016 Muranos will be out in a few months and they will have the same 300 HP version of the V6 as the Maxima. That will really tempt me next year to upgrade to the Murano, can't wait to test drive one this fall.

You've picked two examples of Nissan's best work. I love the new Murano, and while I haven't driven the new Maxima, the 2015 model I drove was an absolute joy.

This is actually a good time to buy a Murano as dealers are offering 0% financing to clear them out this summer before the 2016s arrive. That said though I think the 2016 with a 300 HP engine will be worth waiting for, my dealer hinted at other engine options might be forthcoming in the 2016 lineup.

I wouldn't get too excited about that. Unless he's referring to a 4-cyl, I don't know of any other drivetrains that would be likely contenders for space in the Murano engine bay. The 2016 won't be restyled, so a 2015 is, as you said, a sweet deal right now.

I'll take a Platinum in pearl white with a light tan interior, please and thank you. :)

This can't be true. '15 came out just about 3 months ago so expect it not to be majorly changed for the next 5-6 years unless Nissan will have major problems with engines or transmissions. 300HP would not go for murano the same way as Maxima by a lot of reasons such as weight, awd etc. otherwise it would be nonsense to buy a maxima but a murano which will offer the same specs as sedan. I expect '16 murano on the market no earlier than december (probably february '16).
