I heartily approve of the new avatar, Jesda.
I have to confess that the appeal of Bentley is sort of lost on me. They've been building the same two cars for 12 years, they have looked exactly the same for 12 years, and now they're making a new SUV that looks exactly like their über-dated existing models. I just don't quite think I understand what everyone sees in these cars.
Even though Rolls Royce is in pretty much the same boat (their 2003 model has spawned variants and lookalike clones) I have never been able to get my head to equate modern, VW-owned Bentley with Rolls Royce caliber automobiles. It just doesn't quite add up somehow.
The Bentayga is just bland and generic looking. Even the interior doesn't look like anything special if you ignore the quilting. $220 for an Audi Q7 with bad, dated styling and woodgrain is more ridiculous than my brain can handle. I'm sure it'll sell like crazy, but even if I had 5 of everything else and had six trillion dollars burning a hole in my bank account, I still can't imagine feeling compelled to own one.
I'd honestly rather have a VW Phaeton. Looks a billion times better, doesn't scream for attention, and doesn't have that hideous never-looked-good-in-the-first-place nose. For a third the price.
Also, those seatback screens look like a thousand tons of liquid s***. I realize everything has to have screens everywhere now, but at least make an effort to integrate them with your design. Sticking them on a stand poking out of the seatback is something I'd expect from Ford, not Bentley.
