Bentley has finally unveiled the 2016 Bentayga.

Bentley’s 6.0-litre W-12 behemoth will muster 600 horsepower and 663 foot pounds of torque over its four-wheel-drive, eight-speed, automatic transmission. It’ll go to 60 mph in four seconds and hit a top speed of 187 miles per hour. (That beats the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S by roughly 10 mph and the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 S AMG by about 13 mph.)

Bentley has declined to name pricing yet for the Bentayga, but a base model will start in the mid-$200,000 range. Deliveries begin early next year. Full article with video here: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/ ... ntayga-suv

OK, just for giggles... IF you did have a quarter million in chump change laying about, what vehicle would you buy?

If I had a quarter mill lying around to buy a car, I'd buy more than one as I don't see one vehicle to satisfy all my wants/needs. But if I were to splurge on just one, 1964 Ferrari 330 America (My fathers old car).

That interior is pretty sharp. And even though that face is FULL of grill and chickenwire (or whatever that is), its still more subdued than any current Lexus.

Agreed! Seriously, I don't get the big grill look on Lexus/Toyota. Nothing short of fugly.

I came in reading the title as "2016 Bentley Beluga SUV".

I still don't really care to correct myself; however, luxury gonna luxury and Bentley gonna Bentley. Looks good even though it looks large enough to be more deserving of my Freudian slip above.

The fat Bentley body lends itself quite well to an SUV.

The interior seems a little cheap for the class though.

I heartily approve of the new avatar, Jesda.

I have to confess that the appeal of Bentley is sort of lost on me. They've been building the same two cars for 12 years, they have looked exactly the same for 12 years, and now they're making a new SUV that looks exactly like their über-dated existing models. I just don't quite think I understand what everyone sees in these cars.

Even though Rolls Royce is in pretty much the same boat (their 2003 model has spawned variants and lookalike clones) I have never been able to get my head to equate modern, VW-owned Bentley with Rolls Royce caliber automobiles. It just doesn't quite add up somehow.

The Bentayga is just bland and generic looking. Even the interior doesn't look like anything special if you ignore the quilting. $220 for an Audi Q7 with bad, dated styling and woodgrain is more ridiculous than my brain can handle. I'm sure it'll sell like crazy, but even if I had 5 of everything else and had six trillion dollars burning a hole in my bank account, I still can't imagine feeling compelled to own one.

I'd honestly rather have a VW Phaeton. Looks a billion times better, doesn't scream for attention, and doesn't have that hideous never-looked-good-in-the-first-place nose. For a third the price.

Also, those seatback screens look like a thousand tons of liquid s***. I realize everything has to have screens everywhere now, but at least make an effort to integrate them with your design. Sticking them on a stand poking out of the seatback is something I'd expect from Ford, not Bentley.
