I own a 2016 Altima SR currently at 6100 miles. My wife turned off the highway and felt some hesitation and the check engine light came on. I checked it and got a PO171 code bank 1 running lean. Causes could be vacuum leak, dirty air filter, dirty or bad MAF sensor or O2 sensor. Is this a common issue with the Altima ? I reset the check engine light but have only driven 15 miles since. Could it be a one time fault or should I expect the check engine light again after 75 + miles. The vehicle is a salvage title so it has no warranty. I bought it with 720 miles and made the repairs myself. One of the repairs was exhaust replacement and reuse the original O2 sensor. Any help would be appreciated

I'm unaware of any of this being a common issue with V6 Altimas. Have you checked the FSM for diagnoses and repair procedures? There's plenty of stuff to check out before having to buy parts. See the EC chapter of the FSM starting at page 307:

please let us know how it goes. Also, welcome back to NICO Club. I found your old Versa post. I'm sorry it was never replied to. I guess no one active with a Versa knew the answers to your questions. Hopefully we can help you out better this time.

Pretty sure the '16 SR only comes with a four, the 2.5...............

If they run ethanol in your local fuel it could even be engine has swallowed a chunk of water to run like crap for a few seconds or minute until cleared out. I'd drive it longer to see if the code pops up again. Vacuum leak is the most common cause of that code if not a momentary one and not dirty air filter which makes a code the opposite way, or too rich not lean.
