Hello everyone, thanks in advance for your help.
I have a 2015 SL, I've had it since 2016 and have come across an issue. When the car is OFF, I open the driver's side door and close it, and the car will unlock all doors with the unlock chirp (NOT the "hey man, your car is still on and you left your key in here" rapid beeping. This is not dependent on whether I am inside the car or not. It's never happened before. When the car is ON, this does not happen. It only started happening a few days ago. I can recreate it consistently. I have changed the remote battery several times thinking it was that. No help. No codes are thrown. Any ideas?

The first thing to check is whether the Detent Switch on the shift knob is working. Unlike everything else on the car, the BCM uses the Detent to determine when the car is in Park. The other devices all use the PRNDL reading from the transmission Range Switch, so typically you won't get a "Shift to P" message from a stuck Detent. The exact BCM behavior varies from model to model and I'm not sure about gen2 Rogues, but preventing the doors from locking is one common response. It's also possible the key cylinder switch in the driver's door is bouncing around or stuck in the "unlock" position. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to verify either of those things without a high-end scanner which can read the BCM and IPDM. However, knob covers which interfere with the Detent button are the most common issue with that, so if you have one, try removing it and see if the behavior stops.
