2015 Rogue Whirring under hood when vehicle is off

Ever since we got the brand new Rogue at the end of October, I would randomly notice a whirring sound under the hood while the car was off and parked. It sounds like a pump / motor and would be very intermittent. 5sec on, 20 off, 2sec on, 5 off etc. The sound comes from the front left corner of the engine bay. The dealer may think its the EVAP purge pump, but naturally they can't get it to produce the sound. lol

Anyone here have any ideas? Anyone else's Rogue make this sound?

You hear that too? I thought I'm the paranoid. Does it sound like an ultrasound in high frequencies?

I heard the same noise when my car was parked and turned off. I came out to my garage to get something and the car had been parked for about 30 minutes. I heard an unusual clicking/whirring sound from under the hood so I investigated. Lifted the hood and found it was coming from the back left of the engine compartment although hard to pinpoint exactly. It was slightly random and it sounded like something trying to turn on. The best way I could describe it was that it sounded like an old style rotary dial on a phone - you would dial a number and listen to the whirs and clicks as the dial rotated back into place. The sound would happen about every 15 to 30 seconds and it was just a 2 to 5 second sound. Eventually it stopped after a few minutes and I have tried to listen for it on a number of other occasions. I have not heard it again, but to be honest I have forgotten about it and stopped trying to listen for it. Has anyone decided what it might be? I have a 2015 Rogue with less than 3k miles.
