I'm looking to replace the factory radio (non-Nav, with Apps) on my 2015 Rogue with another compatible factory version. I am NOT looking to upgrade to a NAV system. My only requirement is that all my current features work, especially the rear camera and call controls (but I don't need the Apps).

Is there any guidelines on what factory models would be compatible? Whenever I look for old radios on eBay, the sellers always say that I need to match the previous part exactly. Is this true? Is there not a list of models that might work?
Any help would be appreciated.

Q. Is there any guidelines on what factory models would be compatible?
A. If you had SEARCHED first you'd know the answer is NO.

Q. The eBay sellers always say that I need to match the previous part exactly. Is this true?
A. NO, That's a CYA statement on their part, in case you buy something and it doesn't work. If it's not an exact match they can say it's not their fault and deny you a refund.

Given the inferior quality and high price, WHY would you waste your money on an OEM unit when there are so many better quality aftermarket units available?

Regarding an OEM unit, I'll say that I spent a lot of time looking for an aftermarket unit and was feeling good about the options, except for one thing: the rear backup camera. In order to get a head unit that is video-capable requires a big step-up in price that I'm not ready to do right now. But to get a used OEM unit equivalent to what I have now is $50-$70, which is within my current budget. That's my primary reason. But in order to open my options, I was trying to find what exactly was compatible.

And before I created my OP, I spent at least 20 minutes searching through this forum and didn't find what I was looking for, except a lot of posts of people trying to upgrade from a standard unit to a NAV unit (which is why I mentioned I'm not looking for that). So if I missed something, I'd appreciate some guidance. Thanks.

Like Rogue One already told you, no, it doesn't have to be an exact match
Part numbers for 2014-15 Rogue are 28185 4BA0A or 28185 4BU0A. There are plenty of them on eBay. A newer 2016 version (28185 9TB0A) should be fully compatible as well.
Apps will stop working, but you can ask a dealer to register the replacement radio with Nissan if you really want them.

OK, that's very helpful. Thanks.

And I don't care about the apps. They were never worth using over my phone anyway.
