I've got the 2015 Rogue SL. I'm trying to get the climate control in the Auto setting at 72 degrees with the mode set to floor and front vents. Everytime I change to Auto the mode changes back to floor only. Does anyone know why this is or how I can get Auto with air coming out of floor and front vents?

You cannot change which vents the air comes from in auto mode. I have noticed that if it is cold outside it will always be on floor only. If it is a bit warmer, then front and floor and front only if it is warm outside. I think auto is suppose to choose the "optimal" vent based on outside temperature.

OK, thanks . I did notice that in Nissan's tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUS9mh0GihE it does show Auto with front and floor but, based on your explanation, it must have been warm outside. Thanks again.

Floor vents only when it's cold is typically more efficient because it'll flood the floor with heat which will rise up and scour out the cold.

Oh, OK. That makes sense. I was wondering why Auto would only allow floor heat when it was cold.

While in auto mode (when the auto light is on) the system wants to manege which vents are blowing air. However if you manually select a different mode (50% floor/%50 defrost) the system will still adjust the fan up and down accordingly to keep the cabin at your desired temperature. Still automatic, per say.
