Was down at the dealership. They just got in a Cayenne Red SL with Almond interior. I noticed the 4 carpet mats were charcoal and not almond, but the 2 carpeted mats, held in place with velcro on the Divide-N-Hide, were almond just like the D-n-H carpet.
The dealer says that they are no longer going to be receiving almond floor mats in almond cars. Anyone else either hear this or experience this?
It's probably a good idea in a way to have charcoal colored mats as almond would get dirty real quickly, but I thought the idea of the carpet mats was to be somewhat disposable, while protecting the original OEM carpet.
As an asides...It kind of reminds me of the clear, plastic, bubble-textured covers my grandparents had on the seats of their cars back in the '60s and '70s. Yes they protected the seats but for the entire time you owned the vehicle, you were sitting on non-breathing, sweaty plastic. Then when you sold the car, you took the covers off and had pristine seats. I think if it was me I'd rather enjoy the seats today, rather than having the next owner enjoy what looked like brand new upholstery. So, getting back to the floor mats, I wonder if almond for more matched look, but charcoal for not having to worry about how they look...
