Hello. New Rogue owner.
Living in South Florida, the all wheel drive function wasn’t a high priority. Came up north to visit and ran into a snow storm. Trying to figure out the AWD, I read that my AAwD light should be illuminated. It is not. It does not come on when starting the car or when AWD lock button is on.

Does this mean that my AWD is in fault mode and not working. The manual and internet searches are confusing.

It’ s working as designed. The Rogue’ s AWD system is not an always on System when you turn on the switch.
When you turn on the switch it stays in FWD until it senses a wheel slip ok other condition where AWD is needed then the system turns on and stays on as needed.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I thought that the light would illuminate, at least for a second, when the on button was depressed. I’ll go back and re read the manual.

It will only stay on until you hit 25 MPH and then it turns off and does its own thinking for you.

Yes, if you hit the switch and are below 25MPH. At 26 it turns off, and you have to hit the switch to re-engage once you are 25MPH or below.

If it’s not coming on when you first turn the key on, something is wrong.. Dash light not working on a 2yr old car is very unusual but possible.. show it to dealer service depRtment

In my 2014 the light stays on all the time and the awd lock stays on when activated till I hit 25mph like Big Red mentionned.

So to finish this topic. I had my Rogue in for an oil change today and I ask them to look at the AWD. When finished the service guy said the AWD was operating correctly. I ask him to explain how it is supposed to work to understand my confusion. After I showed him the owners manual and the way it was written he went and asked a tech.

The answer is that a Rogue manufactured in Japan has a light. A car made in America does not. The owners manual actually addresses this however I was reading the manual to where it says (if so equipped) to mean if the car was AWD or not, instead if there is a light bulb or not.

Well the service guy learned something also.

Fort hose who tried to help me thanks!

I have bought a preowner Rogue SV AWD 2015 (7 seater), I bought it last week with 51500km millage.
i am confused how the AWD works! There are NO AWD green lights illuminate and when i put the AWD Lock ON it goes off when the speed goes up to 35-40km/hr. Can someone tell me whether the AWD green light suppose to be illuminating or not. I've never seen it illuminate so far. Besides this with ECO mode i've noticed pick up problem and tightness as well as some humming sound. But with ECO mode OFF the pick up is excellent. And i really don't feel any changes with the SPORT mode ON. Is it normal? Would be helpful if i get some information in this issue.
Thanks

Did you not read the above thread? Your questions have been answered both here and in other threads, but I'll summarize for you.

Your Rogue is WORKING AS DESIGNED.
The All Wheel Drive activates to prevent slippage.
Your Rogue does NOT have full time AWD. If anyone says otherwise, they're either misinformed or lying.
Even if you turn the AWD switch ON, once your car goes over 15-20 mph the AWD shuts off. You cannot override that to get full time AWD.
As stated above, the switch only lights up if your car was assembled in Japan.
