2015 Rogue annoying behavior from radio knob

When I turn my radio knob to tune to Sirius Channels or FM, the knob behaves strangely and not as it is supposed to. When I turn the knob clockwise to go up in channels, the numbers come down or jump around. Turning the knob counterclockwise has the same effect. In other words, the knob contacts inside may be dirty perhaps or who knows. This also happened with my previous, dockable Sirius portable radio receiver. I imagine that with time, the contacts inside the knob wear out or get dirty.

Can anyone offer any suggestions? I'm still under warranty, so I think that I can go to the dealer, but I don't know if they will repair that. They will probably replace the knob but not fix the problem; the problem is not with the plastic knob, and is obviously with the tuner inside.

We had this same problem in my husband's 2015 Titan. It is the same radio system. He took it in under warranty, it had been behaving this way for quite some time, and they first tried to say it was behaving as it should. My husband said no, that is not the way it was supposed to behave. They took it in the bay, changed the oil and then said they couldn't get it to behave that way. Hmmm...first it was "normal" and then they couldn't get it to do it. Well, long story short, when they gave it back to my husband it was working normally and it hasn't happened since. My husband told him he knew he did something and insisted they note it on his account, so if it happens again there is a record of it. We are sure they did a reset or something, but do not know what. Take it in to your dealer and tell them you have heard of it occurring in other Nissan's. you are not the only one!
