We have a 2015 Rogue with push start. After 1.5 years our Viper alarm with remote start failed to start the car. We had to donate a fob to the alarm install and it was wired in per the instructions. We took it back to the alarm installer and he troubleshot it down to the fact that the fob is no longer detected by the car when there is no battery in the fob. The manual indicates that if the battery is dead, you hold the fob to the button with the break pedal pressed and you should get a beep then you can start it. This no longer works with either fob. Nissan told us we had to remove the alarm before they would touch it, so we had the installer tear out all the wiring and put it back to factory. We took it to Nissan who replaced some module behind the push button, the immobilizer ring and now they are stuck. They said that they are getting a fault code in the BCM that indicates 3rd party equipment is installed. They said they called Nissan who indicated that they could not clear the fault and there was nothing they could do for us.
Thoughts? This seems crazy. Viper and other alarms wouldn't be selling these if they didn't work.
