I have a 2015 Quest. I have the glove box and panel removed to access the blower motor. Blower motor is ready to come out but there is a piece of framework that is preventing the motor from coming out. Anyone done this job before?? (Service manual info is no help)
Two pictures attached. Behind the black plastic frame is a steel bracket with a lip which seems to be the hangup.
Point of view for one photo is from the floorboard looking up.
Thanks!

They don't say it in the FSM, but IIRC you need to bend that dash support slightly to get the motor past it. There are a couple other models where bending supports helps the removal of certain components, I use a 14" channelloks to tweak them and then bend them back. In your case it looks like it will help to remove the lower dashpad screws so you can pull it back and grab the support without crunching any plastic.

I removed the far right lower instrument panel screw as shown in FSM IP-25. This gave me more wiggle on that obstruction. The metal bracket, I bent it out of the way. Hate to do that but I didn't see any other way, it didn't appear to be a vital part of anything anyway. As suspected, the source of the vibration was a mouse nest. Also replaced the cabin filter.

Since it's mice, first check under your cowl cover because they probably got in by chewing a hole through the entry grating and then the cabin filter. You might want to put some fine-hole chicken wire over the entry. Second, to chase out any which are still there, treat the whole car with dilute peppermint oil (available off the shelf at Walmart, etc). To clear out the HVAC, while the cowl cover is off, turn the blower on high and heat on high with the cabin filter removed, then spray peppermint down the entry.

Thanks for the additional info. I've already put it back together though. No more vibration.

For anyone else doing this job, there's a smallish panel on the right side of the upper dash, facing the door. This needs to be removed before you can remove the lower panel (glove box housing). That hung me up for quite a while.
Thanks again Vstar!

Good tips. I had to stop parking my '17 Quest under certain tree as it would get leaves in the blower motor and cause all sorts of wacky noises. Good to know if I ever have to take the whole thing out
